Breaking Down Communication Barriers When Advocating for Mental Health Supports
Presented by Julie Lago of Connections All Ways
Friday, January 24th from 9-10:30 AM
Clear communication between individuals, families, caregivers, and healthcare providers is key to getting the best care. However, many things can make communication hard, like complicated medical terms, cultural differences, or not having enough time to talk. This training will explain these challenges in simple terms and share ways to make communication most effective for everyone, ensuring providers have the information needed to provide the appropriate treatment and services.
What You’ll Learn:
1. Understand the common problems people face when talking to doctors, clinicians, and other healthcare providers.
2. Learn why these problems happen, including personal, cultural, and system-wide issues.
3. Find out how to improve communication and work better with mental health professionals.
Registration for all attendees is required: https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_JWbrlE9MRSya2vqEP8Ov4A
Provided at no cost to Area Agency employees, individuals and their guardians.
IMPORTANT: Provider agency staff and other interested attendees must also submit a $25 registration fee at https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/W3ZLJUK4E5REU to receive the webinar link.
