Advocacy & Government Relations

CSNI, in representing the interests of its member organizations, believes that individuals and families are best served through a system that operates as a public-private partnership with local control and governance. New Hampshire has a rich history of family advocacy which has driven the most important and enduring changes to our service delivery system. Efforts to develop and sustain a system that supports individuals living and participating actively in their home communities have resulted in New Hampshire being consistently ranked among the highest in the nation in terms of quality and fiscal efficiency.

Our legislative priorities are set prior to each legislative session, and are driven by CSNI’s commitment to full community inclusion for individuals. To that end, our top priorities are to ensure that our state policy makers fully fund the Developmental Services system to eliminate any waiting lists; collaborate to support the needs of our workforce; and adopt laws and rules that reflect an ongoing understanding of the needs of those we serve and that preserve the elements of our service system that enable individuals to reach their goals.
